KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip V, 221-179 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.70 g, 12 h), Pella or Amphipolis, circa 220-211 BC. Diademed head of Philip V to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Athena Alkidemos advancing to left, holding forth shield on left arm and preparing to cast thunderbolt held in right hand; to left, monogram of ΓΑ. HGC 3, 1055. Cf. Mamroth, Philip, 1 (differing monogram). Apparently unique with this monogram. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
